Tanger Center Named to BusinessNC’s List of Top Projects
November 4, 2020The Tanger Center for the Performing Arts has been named to BusinessNC’s List of NC’s Best New Structures in the category of Arts and Entertainment! The 3,023-seat venue measures 108,260-square-foot facility sits on 4.9 acres at the intersections of North Elm and Lindsay streets and Abe Brenner Place, adjacent to LeBauer Park in downtown Greensboro. The Tanger Center is set to become the focal point of performing arts in the region, hosting nearly 150 events per year including Guilford College’s Bryan Series, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra performances, comedy shows and all types of family entertainment including Broadway and other live theatrical productions. Highlights of the facility include the Schiffman Ring of Light which abuts the ceiling with 60 lights going off, counting down the seconds until showtime; an 8,000-SF lobby with white porcelain tiles and art suspending from the ceiling; and two monumental staircases that lead to the upper level which includes an outdoor terrace and three hospitality suites.
