Southwest Greenville Bypass
Working with design partner, HDR and Sanford Contractors (bridge contractor), Barnhill led the construction team for the $173-million Southwest Greenville Bypass. The project consisted of a new, 12.4 mile, controlled-access facility beginning at Memorial Drive (NC 11) approximately 2.9 miles south of NC 102 and ending at the existing US 264 interchange. The new highway improves traffic flow and congestion on Memorial Drive and Stantonsburg Road; relieves congestion in Greenville and improves regional travel along the US 264/NC 11 corridor. The Barnhill team delivered the Bypass seven months early.
