ECSU of Pharmacy & Health Professions
The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions Building at Elizabeth City State University spans three-stories and is located adjacent to the Jimmy R. Jenkins Science Center on the North Campus of the university. The building is home to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill/ECSU Doctor of Pharmacy Partnership program started in 2005. The building houses a variety of distance learning classrooms, teaching labs and research areas and allows students to complete all six years of study on the ECSU campus.
General science labs for chemistry and microbiology can accommodate 60-70 students and are located on the first floor along with community outreach areas including the Drug Information Center, Library and faculty offices. Compounding labs and IV simulation areas are located on the second floor and the third floor houses more specialized labs including biochemistry, molecular biology and medicinal chemistry. Other classrooms, meeting rooms and offices are distributed throughout the building to create a collaborative environment for the students, faculty and staff. The building includes high-performance mechanical, technology and communications systems with 16 lecture halls outfitted with video conferencing capability to allow for seamless communications with the campus at Chapel Hill.
