Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts
The Duke Energy Center Performing Arts Center project included the addition the Meymandi Concert Hall, Fletcher Opera Theater and Kennedy Black Box Theater to the existing Memorial Auditorium. The Meymandi Concert Hall, an acoustically correct 1,700-seat venue that is home to the North Carolina Symphony. Its 65-foot ceiling, unique shoebox shape, narrow sides and shallow balconies work together to deliver the warmest, clearest and most engaging sound experience possible. The Fletcher Opera Theater is the epicenter for opera and dance in the state, includes a 600-seat theater offering an intimate theatrical experience. The 170-seat Kennedy Black Box Theater offers space for nontraditional performances and experimental theater.
